The Pearl Shop is a jewelry shop that revisits the concept of untouchability. The main idea of this retail shop is to allow clients to experience touching and “playing” with the pearls. The crystal balls containing the pearls open up and unleash their content whever the visitor wants.  While the colourful pearls float above the heads of clients in a kinetic installion of light and movement, the client is invited for a drink and reading about the world of pearls from the interactive OLED screens embedded in the suspended counter/bar made of aluminum foam and glass. The center of this space is dynamic and light while the walls are statics and rigid. This contrast of materiality allows to reflect on the different functions of the space. Visitors can custom-made their jewelry in the workshop located on the mezanine.
