Layered glazes flow unevenly across the surface, creating subtle shifts in color and texture. These gestures act as traces of time, where presence begins to dissolve and meaning becomes unstable.

Naïve Series: Hand-Built Sculptural Ceramic Vase by Hania Jneid

This handmade ceramic vase from the Naïve series is a one-of-a-kind sculptural vessel by Barcelona-based Lebanese designer Hania Jneid. Each hand-built stoneware vase has an organic, asymmetrical form, with soft distortions and rounded curves that feel familiar yet resist precision, like a memory of innocence that can no longer be fully reached.

Layered glazes flow unevenly across the surface, creating subtle shifts of color and texture. Where the glaze thins, the clay shows through; where it gathers, the tone deepens. Every piece of contemporary studio ceramics records its own time in the kiln.

Both functional and sculptural, it works as a decorative flower vase or a standalone ceramic art object. It is a collectible design piece suited to organic modern, minimalist and wabi-sabi interiors, and a statement vase for a console, shelf or dining table.

Made in Barcelona, Spain, as part of Hania Jneid’s practice of emotional objects for fragile memory, rooted in Levantine and Mediterranean craft. Her work has been exhibited at Downtown Design Dubai, Edit Napoli, 1000Vases Paris and Galerie Les Plumes, and featured in Dezeen.
