Part of the artist’s signature Veil lamp collection, “Jade” is a collectible piece of contemporary lighting design rooted in traditional craft techniques from the Levant and Andalusia. The pierced metal shade is inspired by two historic architectural traditions of filtered light — mashrabiyya screens from the Levant and celosía lattice work from Andalusia — casting intricate, dappled light patterns across walls and ceilings when lit. Functional and sculptural at once, it works as both a light source and a piece of ceramic art. Hand-crafted across the artist’s Beirut and Barcelona studios, each lamp is made individually in stoneware, with natural variation typical of handmade ceramics — no two pieces are exactly alike.
